Open enrollment season is coming up. Check out these reasons to start exploring your options for health care coverage.

1. Everyone needs a check-up.

Not only should you be seen yearly for mammograms and other preventive care, at some point you may get sick and require an antibiotic or break an ankle skydiving. There are a lot of reasons that you need to a primary physician you see regularly.

2. Women are unique.

As a woman, you have specific health care needs. Think pap tests and mammograms, for starters. There are additional screenings and other services for which you need to be covered in order to maintain your health.

3. You’re getting older.

Your needs change as you age. For example, maybe you’ve reached menopause and you need different services. It’s important that you care for yourself at every age.

4. Saving money is always a good thing.

Do you have any idea how much money you would be out if you had a major health event without coverage?

In addition to saving money by not having to pay for a health calamity out-of-pocket, you could qualify for a tax credit or a discount that could save you even more.

5. Insurance plans can change.

The details of a health care plan can be different from year to year. If your plan has changed and no longer suits your needs, look for a new one.

An independent insurance expert at UROne can guide you to a choice that’s the most suitable.

6. Your employment may change.

If you experience a job loss, you could find yourself without coverage.

The Open Enrollment Period is the time to sign up for health care coverage through the Marketplace – at least until you have a new employer that offers health insurance.

7. It’s getting easier to apply during open enrollment.

Have you been putting off getting coverage just because it seems confusing and overwhelming?

As time goes on, the application process is getting much easier. UROne can help you navigate the application process.

8. Policies need to renew every year.

Not all insurance companies will automatically re-enroll you each year. Even if your company does auto-renewals, you’ll still need to reevaluate your needs and update your income.

9. Taking risks can backfire.

It’s not wise to ignore your health, no matter your age or situation.

It’s a no-brainer when you think about the financial ramifications if you were to break a bone, need surgery or get a complicated diagnosis.
